The Wonderful World of Pinterest

Have you heard about Pinterest?

PR Daily describes it like this, ”Pinterest is a social network with a simple premise: Users share photos that they find online by “pinning” them, the equivalent of “liking” a status on Facebook or giving a +1 on Google.” And that’s basically it. Each user has a series of categorised pin boards which they add photos to, other users can then follow these pin boards and share your pins.

Pinterest is a unique social networking tool, especially for businesses, because you create and control your own image. Saunders & Co are currently contributing to Pinterest for Cloud Nine where we share pictures of beautiful hair, fashion and beauty as well as pictures of clouds. Other users can then re-pin these images or just look at our boards and be inspired to create their own beautiful hair. In a sense, we are creating a sort of visual portfolio which lets other users see what Cloud Nine is about and the different Cloud Nine products that can be used to create certain looks.

The best thing about Pinterest is that it’s still growing, more than 4000 percent in the last six months to be precise. At an average of 88.3 minutes per visitor, it ranks third on engagement behind Facebook and Tumblr and well ahead of LinkedIn (16 minutes) and Google Plus (5.1 minutes). With that type of rapid growth and with user engagement at over an hour, now is the perfect time to start pinning!

Saunders & Co PR goes global

Global Lifestyle PR network, SERMO signs up Saunders & Co

SERMO, the first ever global lifestyle pr network founded in 2010 by Talk PR (UK), part of the M&C Saatchi group, has today signed leading Australian PR consultancy Saunders & Co.

The SERMO network is made up of independent PR consultancies that are particularly experienced and connected in the fashion, beauty & lifestyle sectors.  The network’s founding partners, Talk PR (UK), Me & Us (France), Nike Communication (US) & Nota Bene (Spain) were joined by partners in Greece, Brazil, Russia, India and Hong Kong in 2011.  The move into Australia and Germany in 2012, takes the number of countries SERMO operates across to 11, spanning five continents with 15 offices worldwide.

It’s that time of year again when you need to put your responsible voting pants on and submit your product selections for the Prix de Marie Claire Awards.

This year is particularly big for Saunders & Co with several of our brands being selected as finalists including evo, Diptyque, Nars, Elixia, SK-II, Olay, and Pantene.

Golden Globes 2012

Did you watch the Golden Globes? Here at Saunders and Co our favourite part was seeing some of the biggest names in Hollywood primped to perfection by our very own clients.

Keeping with the bohemian style of her dress, Jessica Biel kept her hair relaxed with loose waves thanks to Alterna’s Bamboo Range. For extra volume and lift Alterna Bamboo Volume Weightless Whipped Mousse and the Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Boost were used on Jess’ damp hair. After styling the whole look was topped of with Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Humidity Hair Spray to lightly finish the look and keep it in place all night. 

Fekkai handled the stunning and elegant up-do’s for Kate Winslet, Dianna Argon and Kate Beckinsale. They also did Reece Witherspoon’s long, beachy waves.

Doubling up, Kate Winslet’s cheeks looked barely blushing with the help of Stila’s Convertible Colour in Lilium. The other Kate, Kate Beckinsale’s makeup stayed flawless all night thanks to Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturiser.

 

 

Evan Rachel Wood was positively glowing with a mix of Nars Gaiety and Angelika blush on her cheeks while her soft mauve lips were the perfect combination of Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine and the new Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Como.
