VALENTINES DAY PREP

Hello Lovers!

Noticed all the themed cards and chocolates that are popping up everywhere? Well Valentine’s Day is almost upon us and whether you dread the day or countdown to it, February 14 is the perfect excuse to give yourself a fabulous makeover. We’ve found some of the best products to pamper yourselves with that will leave you glowing with confidence this V Day!

If you’re rolling your eyes at us and thinking that Valentine’s Day is a consumer holiday, I say to you, it’s not! It is a day to show love, to remind the world what love is and it doesn’t matter who you show that love to. We are here to tell you that even if you’re single, get up and out and show yourself some love! If you’re lucky enough to have someone pining for you this year then follow these simple steps and be prepared to have them wrapped around your little finger.

PARISSA STRIP FREE HOT WAX: FACE, BROW & BIKINI:

It’s the night before the most romantic day of the year and your eyebrows, bikini line and upper lip are in disarray. A last minute wax is the perfect solution and Parissa Strip Free Hot Wax is your best bet. You won’t need a touch up for another 8 weeks either! Au natural is not an option, so get waxing!

WELEDA EVERON LIP BALM:

For kissable and perfect looking lips, it’s essential to ensure they are properly moisturized before applying any lipstick or gloss. Use Weleda Everon Lip Balm the night before and throughout the day. It will protect your delicate lips from dryness and make sure they’re in their best condition for the main event!

HERBAL ESSENCES “LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP” ANTI-BREAKAGE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER:

To make sure your locks are in fine form and to decrease frizzy fly-aways use Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship shampoo and conditioner the night before your date. Not only does Herbal Essences smell of red raspberry, it has mixed fragrances of red velvet dream cake, chocolate cherry and wild strawberry. On the evening before you style your hair, team the shampoo and conditioner with some “Smooth Lovin’” Anti Frizz Serum to make certain that your hair is silky smooth the entire day and night.

THALGO LA BEAUTE MARINE SLIM AND SCULPT EXPERT: SLIMMING AND FIRMING CREAM

We can’t press rewind on our lives and visit the gym, so an even better option is Thalgo Slimming and Firming Cream to attack and redefine the contours of those stubborn areas. Simply apply all over the body after showering, focusing on problem areas using an upward motion. Use both morning and night on clean skin for optimal results.

KERSTIN FLORIAN CORRECTING BRIGHTENING EYE CRÈME:

Your eyes are the windows to your soul, well, that’s what we’ve been lead to believe. Either way it doesn’t hurt to make sure your eyes sparkle every day, and most importantly, on Valentine’s Day! Kerstin Florian Correction Brightening Eye Crème is infused with peptides and vitamins A, C and E, which are essential to reduce puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. For the best results use in the morning and in the evening, it is a crucial aspect of any respectable woman’s beauty regime.

It’s now up to you, fellow romantics, to take our wise words into careful consideration. Get prepping and pampering, soon we will send you some more vital information to help you on the big day! Don’t worry we won’t keep you waiting too long.

Each ground-breaking product were elevated to their worthy positions, floating on Perspex plinths within the clouds. Guests were then ushered through to a spectacularly lit dining room evoking the clouds and night sky  while being treated to a delicious seasonal feast.  The night ended with a display of stars and one of the most delicious desserts in recent memory.

Golden Globes 2012

Did you watch the Golden Globes? Here at Saunders and Co our favourite part was seeing some of the biggest names in Hollywood primped to perfection by our very own clients.

Keeping with the bohemian style of her dress, Jessica Biel kept her hair relaxed with loose waves thanks to Alterna’s Bamboo Range. For extra volume and lift Alterna Bamboo Volume Weightless Whipped Mousse and the Bamboo Volume Uplifting Root Boost were used on Jess’ damp hair. After styling the whole look was topped of with Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Humidity Hair Spray to lightly finish the look and keep it in place all night.

Fekkai handled the stunning and elegant up-do’s for Kate Winslet, Dianna Argon and Kate Beckinsale. They also did Reece Witherspoon’s long, beachy waves.

Doubling up, Kate Winslet’s cheeks looked barely blushing with the help of Stila’s Convertible Colour in Lilium. The other Kate, Kate Beckinsale’s makeup stayed flawless all night thanks to Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturiser.

Evan Rachel Wood was positively glowing with a mix of Nars Gaiety and Angelika blush on her cheeks while her soft mauve lips were the perfect combination of Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine and the new Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Como.

Which Golden Globes look did you love? Do you prefer the elegant looks of Kate Winslet and Kate Beckinsale or something more relaxed like Jessica Biel or Reece Witherspoon?

An update from Bindi

Hi friends! It’s me, Bindi Saunders! Dad said I could take over the blog today becasue he is super busy and working really hard.

Today was such an exciting day in the office. The girls took me into the beauty cupboard and I got to choose all my favourite products!!! These are the ones I think smell the best, but don’t worry, I’m going to try to break in there and find some more new products next week as well….

  1. Alterna Caviar Blonde Leave in Conditioner  - brings out my natural tones and highlights while keeping my coat silky and smooth
  2. Essie nailpolish in smooth sailing – a lady should have beautiful manicured nails at all times and just because I’m a dog doesn’t mean that I should be left out.
  3. Redecker Dog Brush from Saison - to keep my coat tangle free
  4. Evo Salty Dog Spray - it gives my hair great texture after I’ve had a bath
  5. Voluspa candles for nap time in dad’s office.  My favourite is the Burmeese Rosewood fragrance

That’s all for now but if you want to hang out more you can be friends with me on facebook as well! Or if you have any product suggestions that you think I should test out, send me an email at info@sandcopr.com.au

See you soon

Desert Island Dreaming

It is freezing here in Sydney at the moment and we are desperately wishing for a sunny island holiday.  Fiji is beautiful at this time of year isn’t it?

So this begs the question, what does one pack for a desert island getaway?  Obviously the manditory selection of bikini’s, SPF30 and beach coverups are essential but another item that must not be forgotten is your trusty dry shampoo.  Our top product pick would have to be Evo’s Water Killer Dry Shampoo (RRP $29.95) which doubles as a styling product without feeling heavy.  Also, Bumble & Bumble’s Brown Hair Powder (RRP$72.00) is perfect for those with dark hair wanting to freshen up their look and add volume.

Holiday hair perfection.

The Spirit of the Black Dress

Last night, Melbourne’s fashionista crowd gathered at the Trust for the Opening Gala of The Spirit of the Black Dress where ten emerging designers presented the best in up and coming design around the country.  Now in its third year, the event sees local designers submitting their concept for an environmentally  sustainable black dress.  A panel of industry experts (which includes The Age’s Fashion Editor Janice Breen Burns, Katie Sommerville – the curator of Australian fashion and textiles at the National Gallery of Victoria, and stylist/blogger Romy Frydman) then picks the best ten, which are exhibited during LMFF, alongside a photography project that showcases each piece individually whilst tying them together into a broader theme.

One standout was a tribal-influenced mini dress by Alyana Eau and Priscilla Lim. Cut strapless in a slightly tulip shape – a cocktail classic – it featured two modular additions, which transformed the simple piece into a work of sculpture.   Also impressive was Clea Garrick and Nathan Price’s short sleeved creation that gave an evening flare to a body conscious leather minidress (made from two recycled leather jackets), thanks to the edition of a floor length skirt in a diaphanous, sheer black silk.

The beauty look for the models was very natural with dewy faces, minimal lash line nude lip and slightly dishevelled, free form hair.  Hair was sponsored by Alterna and Makeup was sponsored by New CID Cosmetics.

Guests at the opening gala included James Razos, Jenny Bannister, Celebrity stylist Phillip Boon, Laura Anderson,  Fashionista Sarah Dale,  Anthony Capon, and Robert Buckingham, and Fashion TV’s Tara Strong.

Featured Designers:

Dan Jones, Leanne Dempsey, Alyana Eau & Priscilla Lim, Georgia McCorkill, Samantha Lilian Koval, Cristina Tridente, Alex Trimmer, Katherine Hamer, Clea Garrick & Nathan Price and Melina Hollway

Getting Ready for Back To School with eco.kid

A startling statistic that all Mums should take heed of – an estimated 23% of school students have head-lice.

It’s coming to that time of year where once again, students from all over the country are flocking back to school from their summer holidays. With the carefree holidays soon to be behind them, it’s likely that there are some things that haven’t been left behind, that may decide to be shared for more than just show and tell on the first day back at school.

Whilst head-lice aren’t known to carry disease, they can prove very disruptive due to their ability to spread easily from head to head (even clean ones. So all it can take is one infected head in a classroom of children, and before long, the whole family can be affected. So how do we prevent this from happening?

eco.kid has the answer for you, with their eco-friendly approach to kids hair-care not only being friendly to the environment, but proving super UNfriendly for head-lice and other nasties that can live in your kids hair.Using a ‘dry-clean’ method, the products contain no harsh detergents, with all the ingredients being naturally derived. This proves to be another benefit for children, with the natural ingredients being far gentler on a child’s skin than other products which may include synthetic perfumes, colours, preservatives & surfactants.

eco.kid is 100% Australian owned too, so you know you’re supporting the local industry.

The range of products includes a lice bomb, daily shampoo, daily conditioner, leave-in conditioner & even a styling wax, so your kids can look stylish at the same time as preventing the nasties from getting in.

Also, have a read of the writeup of eco.kid over at at the Babyology website.

For all stockist enquiries, please call 1300 437 436.

For further information, product samples or images, please contact Laura Deane at Saunders & Co PR

Whilst proving detrimental to the survival of lice, the eco.kid range also provides a balanced haircare regime for your kids by preventing split ends, tangles & dry scalp. The high percentage of essential oils in eco.kid products creates an environment that is virtually impossible for head lice to live in.
