The Saunders showroom lights up with the sequins of Ruth Tarvydas!

It was like Christmas  last week when the sparkles and glamour of Ruth Tarvydas’ collection entered our showroom..

Tarvydas is the glamorous, edgy and sexy Australian label known for creating exceptional designs that steer from fashion trends and the ordinary. Pioneered by Perth icon Ruth Tarvydas, Tarvydas has been in the headlines since 2004, when Rebecca Twigley turned heads at the Brownlow’s in Ruth’s infamous ‘red dress.’

In May 2009, Tarvydas was asked to design the National Costume for Miss Universe Australia at the international pageant in the Bahamas. In November, Tarvydas launched it’s SS10 collection in Harrods London (Evening Wear and Way In)Tarvydas is showing at Pure London in February 2010.

 Tarvydas attracts a broad celebrity following, which includes Rihanna, Alicia Keys, The Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Emma Watson, Amy Winehouse, Rachel Hunter, Girls Aloud and Ke$ha to name a few.

Maxshop.com is predicting a steamy summer if their new range ‘Havana’ is any barometer for things. The new summer 2009/2010 range is packed full of drapey beach ready seperates, sexy swimwear and floaty dresses, all inspired by the Cuban Capital with a sunburnt colour palette and old world latin glamour.

 “The Havana collection is defined by strong shades of teal, coral, aquamarine and burnt orange along with an array of geometric and animal-inspired prints,” says Meegan Webster Head Designer Maxshop.com. “I imagined the long white sand beaches of Cuba for an array of beach cover-ups, kaftans, summer dresses and swimsuits or party dresses for sipping evening Mojitos in.”
