Mecca Maxima

In case you missed it, Mecca Cosmetica have unleashed their newest super store, Mecca Maxima in Melbourne. Conveniently located in Melbourne Central in the La Trobe St Building, shoppers are invited into a cosmetic wonderland, with over three thousand products from over one hundred of your favourite brands. Experts are found in their droves, eagerly awaiting to assist you if you are in need of help (as indicated by the reversible label on your shopping basket) or to answer any questions you have if you are content just to browse.

The store (literally a mecca for beauty – no misleading names here!) caters for all your beauty needs: hair, skin, fragrance, body, accessories…. If you need it, then there’s a great chance you’ll find it.

With plans to open more Mecca Cosmetica’s around the country, here’s to hoping they reach us soon!

We’re back!

Since you were last updated with the happenings of the Saunders team and our wonderful clients, a lot has been happening…

Australia’s very own “Posh and Becks”, Lara Bingle and Michael Clarke (finally) went their separate ways, Heidi Montague had one very expensive visit to her plastic surgeon, Lady GaGa danced her way out of the closet, and as the fashion industry lost dear friend Alexander McQueen, we lost a member of our Saunders family to the city of New York (Ava Matthews).

While all of this has been going on we have been very, very busy finding some new friends, and boy do we have a glamorous and exciting selection for you!

Taking over Ava’s duties as leading lady of Mecca Cosmetica and Essie, is our new gal, Julia. Hardworking and funny, we feel like she’s been with us for years! Oh and did I mention her brother (James Tobin) is one of the Cleo Bachelors of the Year? Deeelish. Welcome aboard Julia!

We have also welcomed some amazing new clients.

Le Labo Founder Featured In Grazia

In this week’s issue of Grazia (Nov 23rd) Le Labo founder Edouard Roschi talks about the blossoming of his niche fragrance brand Le Labo (French for The Lab), shows us his New York apartment as well as discussing the history and philosophy behind his scent range that includes Jennifer Lopez as one of  its celebrity devotees. On the eve of the Australian launch of Le Labo exclusively at Mecca Cosmetica on 19th November, Edouard talks about the process of creating his signature 12 fragrances, which are blended to order for waiting clients within 45 mins. Though he does not classify Le Labo as a bespoke perfumer he does agree that the experience of having your perfume hand mixed in front of you in a bottle bearing you name, is part of the brands charm. But after developing Le Labo’s unique fragrances, a range of hand poured candles and with global interest mounting, Roschi still maintains  ”We want to be great, not big” and at the end of the day ” (Le Labo) want to share with people what fine perfumery can be.” For the full article pick up a copy of Grazia, out this week.
