Back to basics: Twitter 101

The social phenomenon Twitter is growing so fast it threatens to overtake other social media channels and change once more the ever evolving social media landscape. Since its inception five years ago, there are already 85 million accounts with one or more followers. The time it took from the first tweet to the billionth tweet was three years, two months and one day.

As a Twitter user you can post nimble, fast, immediate updates in 140 characters, follow and view updates from other users and send a public reply or private direct message to connect with another tweeter. How does Twitter differentiate itself from YouTube or Facebook or any other medium? Short, sharp and tweet in a restricted 140 characters. This paragraph alone is far too long to Tweet!

‘Tweets’ have evolved since I’ve been watching, from sharing mundane everyday experiences to intellectual and immediate news that influence my day. From shared links to interesting content on the web, conversations around hot topics as they unfold, photos, videos, music and most pertinent, real-time accounts from people in the midst of a newsworthy event, crisis or natural disaster.

The Marketing Mix

No doubt by now, you will have already heard about the new addition to our Saunders & Co PR team, General Manager Raffaele D’Alisa, and it seems others have as well…. Already making waves online, an article appeared on Influencing today with Raff making comment on the strategic marketing mix working together.  We have pulled a sneaky quote from the story and pasted it below, however to read the full article click here

……………

Digital PR has been a focus area of Saunders & Co for many years. We will continue to focus on the most effective tools (and this will be dictated by the campaign objectives and target audience) that deliver the message to the consumer of our clients’ brands,” D’Alisa said.

However, D’Alisa believes digital media must work with traditional media in order to achieve the best results.

No element of the marketing mix can work in isolation and I believe each element (of the marketing mix) plays a role in the launch of a brand or new message. Digital PR today is about content that leads to conversation. The use of traditional mediums can help to instigate those conversations by driving broad awareness.”

Bindi’s diary – Christmas News Day

Hi everyone!  Bindi here again!  Thought I should just keep you in the loop with what’s been happen’ in the office of late and let me tell you it has been BUSY!

It might be a bit early and a daunting for you, but the girls in the office are already preparing for Christmas.  Yes, It’s nearly that time of year already….So to make things that little bit easier we put together a little Christmas news day at our Alexandria offices for the editors.   All the girls spent most of the day discussing gift options, drinking tea and treating themselves to a few macaroons.

I, on the other hand spent the day spying all the glamorous shoes I saw the girls parading through the showroom throughout the day! My one weakness is shoes and nail polish and the day was full of both!

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all macaroons and shoes all day! Everyone was filled in on Christmas gift ideas from some of our fab brands including Essie, Mecca Cosmetica, Thalgo, Trilogy, Grown, Saison, Ezibuy, Obus, Flinders Lane, Coast Clothing Co. and Merino kids.

I’m putting my Christmas order in now for the Voluspa Golden Cyprus candles because they smell like Dad’s Christmas tree.  And I think the Flinders Lane bow ties would be a lovely addition to my beaded collar.

See you all soon!

An update from Bindi

Hi friends! It’s me, Bindi Saunders! Dad said I could take over the blog today becasue he is super busy and working really hard.

Today was such an exciting day in the office. The girls took me into the beauty cupboard and I got to choose all my favourite products!!! These are the ones I think smell the best, but don’t worry, I’m going to try to break in there and find some more new products next week as well….

  1. Alterna Caviar Blonde Leave in Conditioner  - brings out my natural tones and highlights while keeping my coat silky and smooth
  2. Essie nailpolish in smooth sailing – a lady should have beautiful manicured nails at all times and just because I’m a dog doesn’t mean that I should be left out.
  3. Redecker Dog Brush from Saison - to keep my coat tangle free
  4. Evo Salty Dog Spray - it gives my hair great texture after I’ve had a bath
  5. Voluspa candles for nap time in dad’s office.  My favourite is the Burmeese Rosewood fragrance

That’s all for now but if you want to hang out more you can be friends with me on facebook as well! Or if you have any product suggestions that you think I should test out, send me an email at info@sandcopr.com.au

See you soon
